Since my childhood when I saw one or more of these commercials in the Taster's Choice version, all I can wonder is how on earth these people are so up themselves about instant coffee. Seriously. Granted this was a time before (a) Starbucks, never mind anything better available in mass market, and (b) Keurig, but if I were out of coffee and in desperation asked a neighbor if I could borrow some and they gave me a jar of instant? I genuinely think I would have said "Oh - no, it's okay if you don't have any, thanks," because what I meant was coffee. (Actually I probably would have taken the jar of instant, thanked the neighbor, and then simply not served coffee.) I don't actually think there's anything wrong with liking instant coffee, but I think it's funny that people who are going to be coffee snobs are being snobs about instant coffee. Like, snobs are normally way snobbier, aren't they? And yet this couple meet over both preferring the same brand of instant coffee, which is a ridiculous thing to be a snob about, and it's like a love story for the ages. How can that be? How can we all be so sympathetic to and invested in the happiness of a couple of snobs? I love it. (I understand that the characters are named Tony and Sharon because the actors are named Tony and Sharon, but I would prefer you write about the characters in the fictitious Gold Blend world rather than the actors making the commercial in our world. If this is the only request we match on and you can't not write RPF, can you please give them made-up last names? Thanks and happy new year. :-D)

My sainted dad used to love this show, and it was fun to watch it with him. It's fun to look at the reruns and boggle at (a) the costumes and (b) the way it was always obvious in the first five minutes who the murder victim was going to be, because there was always one person who was awful to every single other person. (I was not alert enough at the time to notice whether the famousness of the guest stars ever had anything to do with anything, the way it eventually did on Law & Order, for example.) To say nothing of wondering why on earth people kept moving to or even visiting Cabot Cove, Maine; did they not know how dangerous it was? I suppose they must have figured it couldn't possibly happen to them. Anyway, I prefer you not make Jessica the villain of the piece, but otherwise, have at.

Star Wars Legends: X-Wing Series - Aaron Allston & Michael Stackpole

I love these guys. :-) Anything you give me in this world will please me. I love Wedge the best, as Stackpole and Allston (and other Extended Universe writers, I think) write him, but I also like Wes and Hobbie and everyone else. I like the goofy caper plots they get up to on their missions. I like Rogue Squadron, the original badasses, and I like Wraith Squadron, which started out as more of a support group than a military unit but each of whose members grew into their various competencies. Basically in life and in fiction I really enjoy watching skilled people do things they're good at, so a story about any combination of X-wing pilots taking enemies (or one another!) to school would be right up my street.

Tell me more about Horatio. He and Hamlet seem not to have been especially well acquainted at university, but Horatio becomes about the most important person in Hamlet's life by the end of the play. How does that happen? I mean, the first time the audience sees Hamlet and Horatio in the same scene, Hamlet isn't a hundred percent sure he remembers Horatio's name. (Horatio obviously knows him a little better, but not socially—everyone "knows" him because he's the crown prince.) But they grow much closer over the course of the events in the play. Is that because Horatio is in love with Hamlet? and Hamlet exploits that? loves him back? can't even tell but manages to alienate (and endure, if not cause, the death of) everyone in the play he does know well (Ophelia, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, Gertrude, and arguably Claudius and Polonius) on his mad (?) way to putting all his trust in a relative stranger? . . . I could make a case for any of these, and I'd love to see what you do with one of them.

I love Dominic and Silas the best - which is a little surprising to me as normally I'm not super into BDSM or any combination of such initials, but between the fact that the sub is called Dom and the rest of the crowd openly call the scruffy one a werewolf, what can I say, I adore them. I do also like everyone else as well, which is why I picked the third additional tag (which I hope is the right use of it); tell me a story in this world and I'll be pleased. It can involve politics or not, Christmas time or not, Regency period or a half a generation later (what would these fellows make of their monarch being an 18-year-old girl?). Or something else! Feel free to cross over with any other KJC joints that make sense to you, if you like. Richard Vane's great-nephew is canonically one of the Lilywhite Boys, for example. I also note that Dominic Frey is the third son in his family; does one of his brothers have a granddaughter who marries the Marquess of Flitby - that is, is this the "bad blood on [Kim Secretan's] mother's side" the Marquess refers to near the end of Subtle Blood? (Kim and Dom are, a hundred years apart, both political types with dark hair and dark eyes who like it a little on the rough side, I'm just saying.) Whatever strikes your fancy.

I'd love something about Mizuki learning to live in the aftermath -- of the war, of what happened in Nagura (whether or not he recalls anything), or both.
Mizuki sees himself as driven by the ruthless logic of survival -- yet beneath that is an instinctive, ultimately more powerful compassion. He speaks up for a stranger despite the risk; later, when they're no longer strangers, he goes back for him. How does his world change post-movie, now that he has to raise a child?
I requested only Mizuki and I'd love Mizuki-centric fic. But if you'd like to write about him and Gegerou, gen or otherwise, I'd love that too! More thoughts in my letter, if needed.
I haven't read/watched anything else from the Gegege universe, so I'd like fic that doesn't draw heavily from other canons.

I chose 'Any' very deliberately: I'd love fic about any one or more of these guys, gen or otherwise, canon-compliant or canon-divergent. The movie has such fascinating dynamics of loyalty and trust, tests and betrayal; fic exploring any of that would be great.
Here are some ideas, but don't feel obliged to use any:
Tak: Something about identity and betrayal, police ideals versus Muro as a partner. How he wanted Muro to escape, yet still made that final choice. (But I'm open to canon divergence where he doesn't face that choice, or chooses differently!)
Muro: Anna and the support group versus yakuza life. Wanting to be a hero, but not to leave Toshokai. His reaction to discovering Tak's identity; if not for Emiri, would he still have confronted Tak?
Toki: His backstory with Muro, and what he makes of Muro and Tak's partnership. The fact that he ignored what Tak was doing for the sake of Toshokai. Why he didn't want to become Toake's secretary.
Toake: How he changed sides; was it a forced decision or had he already been wavering? His suspicions about Tak, and how they change over the course of the movie. (Bear isn't nominated, but if you'd like to write about him and Toake, I'd love to read that too.)
If you'd like to write pairingfic, please do!! The movie makes so many pairings (or complicated three-way relationships) plausible; more thoughts in my letter, if needed.

I love every shade of the Yukawa and Kusanagi dynamic: from their easy banter and fondness for each other, to the tension and conflict when Yukawa insists on his own approach to cases (most devastatingly in Kindan no Majutsu, Silent Parade, and Toumei na Rasen).
I'd love fic from any point in canon (so it's fine if you've only read one of the novels or short story collections), anywhere from gen to UST to shipfic. A closer look at the conflict or aftermath of a specific case (or in their partnership in general); stories from their university days; slice-of-life scenes -- anything, as long as it's about the two of them. There are ideas in my letter for every book in the series, if that helps!

i will be honest with you: when miranda and alonso left, i got bored of grandia 3. miranda's relationship with yuki and alfina is so sweet, and her desire to care for them meeting her desire to go off and have her own experiences and live her own life is just. i love her and alonso. they're so sweet.
i would really enjoy seeing more of them. what are their adventures like during the plot of the rest of grandia 3? how do they come across yuki&co later? i'm a huge fan of rashomon-style fics, so i would super enjoy seeing miranda and alonso's reaction to hearing about things in the main plot secondhand and trying to piece together the real story. episolary would also be wonderful! so would worldbuilding about what they'd see!
grandia 3 is such a fun, weird game and that it let the older characters go off and have their own adventure is honestly so much fun and i want a game entirely about them. go to town! spoilers for the entire game is fine (i am using this as the inspiration to make me finish this game)

gunbuster at this point may be my absolute favorite anime ever, and a huge portion of that love is because of how seriously they take time dilation and the realities of FTL travel.
so what i'm saying is: i want to know what happens after the end. when noriko and kazumi return to earth, how do they find it? how do they integrate? do they join society, or are they just not equipped for that? are there any elements of the world they knew before?
i am so, so interested in the concept of a world out of time and characters stuck in a world out of time. the trauma of lonliness, the experience of being a stranger in a strange land that is in fact your own land means that gunbuster reminds me in a lot of ways of the dark tower series, with that same sense of timeless wonder and monumental loss.
i would be happy to see this either gen or ship, but would prefer the latter. an exploration of how their relationship changed and developed on their way back to earth, and how it continues to change once they're on earth and living in real time—that would be so cool.
if you're familiar with diebuster i would be SO excited to see this tie in with diebuster, particularly having lal-c meet noriko. how would that go down? what would noriko and kazumi think about diebuster and the creations of their legacy? the world they didn't even mean to birth?
they got such a bittersweet ending, and i want to see it.

the fealty of monsters is a dark fantasy erotica that is like if trinity blood fucked the master and margherita and i enjoyed it immensely, so i recommend it highly to anyone who might like vampires who are mosquitos and also overthrowing the tzar.
however, this request is not about that.
this request is about whatever the fuck ilya and władysław had going on in the past prior to the start of the book and what that looked like between them. i'm sure we'll get more details in vol. 2 whenever it releases next year, but until then, i fully assume that they had some kind of weird codependent fuck relationship that was just bad sex and old grudges, and then ilya fucks sasza and oh, man, there's so many layers.
i would be sooo into seeing some of ilya's pov on the plot of vol. 1, particularly on sasza's feelings about his father and how weird it has to be on ilya's part to have information that sasza doesn't know and ilya doesn't share.
in general beyond this, i'd be happy to see any worldbuilding. i want to know more about the giant mosquito vampires, or about some of the other vampire states. is there vampire catholicism? please let there be vampire catholicism.

i want to study askeladd like a bug in a jar. i am obsessed with him. i honestly wasnt really taken with vinland saga until more of his backstory came up, and then i was obsessed with it to a degree i have rarely been w a manga bc i needed more detail about a character.
what i find most fascinating about askeladd is how willing he is to allow himself to be viewed in whatever way is convenient for others. i didn't put either canute or thorfinn on my request itself, but i would be happy to receive a fic about their viewpoints or interactions with askeladd—or, frankly, any other character in the series, or an original character.
on one hand, i would be so into reading about askeladd from his own pov, because you know whatever is going on in there is complex and fascinating. on the other hand, he's most interesting (to me at least) when read and examined by people outside of himself. part of what makes him so unique is that he is so willing to be whatever it is people expect of him, no matter how cruel that might be. he was raised hard, and he makes the world hard, but he makes it hard in the right way to reach every person he meets. he's such a weird fucking mentor.

Caves of Steel is probably my favorite novel of all time, but I adore all of these books. I am very fond of Daneel and Elijah. I find the world they inhabit fascinating, both the future society of Earth, and that of the Outer Worlds. As I love detective fiction, science fiction and especially robots, these stories may as well have been written specifically for me. Part of the appeal, for me, is how they manage to deliver both an entertaining mystery and heart-felt interpersonal drama in a world that feels real. Daneel is one of my favorite fictional characters; the way his empathy and personality shines through his programming and limitations. And Lije is the ultimate cynical, world-weary everyman - together, they are a pair of detectives that deserve to be up there with Holmes and Poirot.
Wants: Casefic. Seriously, if you can write me casefic for this fandom, I will be delighted. A murder mystery would be fantastic. I do ship Daneel and Elijah, and I would love to read about the unresolved tension between them. Explicit sex would be great! While I love the ending, I am dying to know what happens next! I adore both the setting and the characters, and particularly how the tone walks such a perfect line between horror, humor and realism. Can there be three sides to a line? There can now; Edvard will make it work, somehow. I've picked my two favorite characters - I enjoy Edvard for his delightful and wild innoventions, and his eclectic personality. He's an interesting mix of cynical and blindly optimistic, with just a hint of madness. That being said, Barnaby is my absolute favorite. The idea of a man who takes to a life of crime because he thinks it might be "a bit of fun", and then ends up being accidentally really good at it is absolutely brilliant. He also seems to have some unexpected character growth, particularly toward the end. Last year I said that I do not ship these two, but the idea has since grown on me. So feel free to write gen or slash, as you prefer! It is also more than fine to pair either or both of them with other characters.
Exception to both characters being featured: As I mentioned, Barnaby is my absolute favorite. So long as he is featured, it's okay to not feature Edvard. That doesn't mean I don't want to see Edvard, just that it's okay if you'd prefer not to write about him.
Wants: I really just want to see what happens next. That said, if you haven't finished the series yet - don't worry! I'm more than happy to read a story from earlier in the series. I'm a sucker for casefic, particularly detective fiction, so if you'd like to try your hand at that, I'd be a very happy recipient! I'd also love to read more about Barnaby in general, and perhaps something more about Edvard's past? And of course, there's worldbuilding - what is the world like, now? I'm not quite sure what it is about this series that appeals to me so much; on the surface, they are simplistic adventure stories, albeit competently written, set in a universe of naive scientific optimism and (heavily) implied misogyny. But my goodness, how much heart and charm they have! I adore both Lucky and Bigman, their relationship, and the fascinating world in which they live. There is, perhaps, something soothing and satisfying in imagining a word in which science and rationality triumphs, and our lives are made better by technology, never worse.
Wants: As with Daneel and Elijah, above, casefic with angsty romance, please! For this fandom, I would very much appreciate some worldbuilding and expansion on the ideas presented in the novels - why are there so few women? How does society work? All that jazz. And again, if you're not comfortable writing slash, I would love an exploration of Lucky and Bigman's relationship, no matter what you consider the nature of that relationship to be. My dream response to this request would be something in the style of Asimov, but updated with modern sensibilities.

Stories that explore the unusual, the unknown, the delightfully unfamiliar. So essentially: More, plz!
Wants: Above all I would love an original story in the Twilight Zone mold, though I understand that not everyone will have signed up with that in mind. This has been my obsession this year; I’m on my fifth or sixth play-through (just got House of Light). I love the chill vibes, the open and forgiving nature of the game, and the general sense of menace that pervades. I’m not a librarian in real life, but my training is not far off, and I have definitely been back in the stacks perusing a tome in an obscure language in my time, so this is all very dear to my heart.
The Lore in this game is extensive, and I would be delighted to get something about that- Natan of Regensburg as a healer in his tower, segregated from the monks of St Brandans; Natalia Brulleau trying to trap the Edge-long, or building the Night Gallery, etc (or anyone else that I haven’t named). I would be equally delighted to get something about the Twelfth Librarian’s experience of putting the House to rights, of cataloging and cleaning and discovering the library, of meeting the residents of Brancrug, of taming vipers and tending grapevines. Or both.
Some absolutely optional suggestions: I am a big fan of epistolary, and it might work well with this fandom, since the entire storyline of the game is essentially in epistolary. Also, language is a particular delight of mine, and I would love to have something about the weird languages of the game- Ramsund and Killasimi and Fucine etc, or even *in* them (or the real languages as well) if you’re of a conlanging/conscripting/calligraphic bent. If none of that sounds exciting to you, though, I would also be perfectly happy to get a story without them.

So, this game is just like, implausibly weird and good. If you look at the trailer, it just looks like another cooking-themed time management game. It’s not until you get into it that you’re like, hold up, *how* did they say stroganoff was invented? What happened to Texas? Why is everything radioactive? Why is this improbably catchy music about driving through the radioactive rubble of your hometown? Is that Spanish Pig Latin? (the soundtrack to CSD3 was amazing)
There’s just so much you could potentially do with the background lore of this game. The Blue War, combat food trucks, the different other restaurants, the passive aggressive emails from Teragon Tower… Bonus points if you include food/cooking in somehow. I do like Whisk and Cleaver, so if you want to include them (or the Chef) that’s fine. But mostly I just want something set in the bizarre, radioactive America of CSD!

Since my childhood when I saw one or more of these commercials in the Taster's Choice version, all I can wonder is how on earth these people are so up themselves about instant coffee. Seriously. Granted this was a time before (a) Starbucks, never mind anything better available in mass market, and (b) Keurig, but if I were out of coffee and in desperation asked a neighbor if I could borrow some and they gave me a jar of instant? I genuinely think I would have said "Oh - no, it's okay if you don't have any, thanks," because what I meant was coffee. (Actually I probably would have taken the jar of instant, thanked the neighbor, and then simply not served coffee.) I don't actually think there's anything wrong with liking instant coffee, but I think it's funny that people who are going to be coffee snobs are being snobs about instant coffee. Like, snobs are normally way snobbier, aren't they? And yet this couple meet over both preferring the same brand of instant coffee, which is a ridiculous thing to be a snob about, and it's like a love story for the ages. How can that be? How can we all be so sympathetic to and invested in the happiness of a couple of snobs? I love it. (I understand that the characters are named Tony and Sharon because the actors are named Tony and Sharon, but I would prefer you write about the characters in the fictitious Gold Blend world rather than the actors making the commercial in our world. If this is the only request we match on and you can't not write RPF, can you please give them made-up last names? Thanks and happy new year. :-D)

My sainted dad used to love this show, and it was fun to watch it with him. It's fun to look at the reruns and boggle at (a) the costumes and (b) the way it was always obvious in the first five minutes who the murder victim was going to be, because there was always one person who was awful to every single other person. (I was not alert enough at the time to notice whether the famousness of the guest stars ever had anything to do with anything, the way it eventually did on Law & Order, for example.) To say nothing of wondering why on earth people kept moving to or even visiting Cabot Cove, Maine; did they not know how dangerous it was? I like Rogue Squadron, the original badasses, and I like Wraith Squadron, which started out as more of a support group than a military unit but each of whose members grew into their various competencies. Basically in life and in fiction I really enjoy watching skilled people do things they're good at, so a story about any combination of X-wing pilots taking enemies (or one another!) to school would be right up my street.

Tell me more about Horatio. He and Hamlet seem not to have been especially well acquainted at university, but Horatio becomes about the most important person in Hamlet's life by the end of the play. How does that happen? I mean, the first time the audience sees Hamlet and Horatio in the same scene, Hamlet isn't a hundred percent sure he remembers Horatio's name. (Horatio obviously knows him a little better, but not socially—everyone "knows" him because he's the crown prince.) But they grow much closer over the course of the events in the play. Is that because Horatio is in love with Hamlet? and Hamlet exploits that? loves him back? can't even tell but manages to alienate (and endure, if not cause, the death of) everyone in the play he does know well (Ophelia, Rosencrantz, Guildenstern, Gertrude, and arguably Claudius and Polonius) on his mad (?) way to putting all his trust in a relative stranger? . . . I could make a case for any of these, and I'd love to see what you do with one of them.

Mizuki sees himself as driven by the ruthless logic of survival -- yet beneath that is an instinctive, ultimately more powerful compassion. He speaks up for a stranger despite the risk; later, when they're no longer strangers, he goes back for him. How does his world change post-movie, now that he has to raise a child?
I requested only Mizuki and I'd love Mizuki-centric fic. But if you'd like to write about him and Gegerou, gen or otherwise, I'd love that too! More thoughts in my letter, if needed.
I haven't read/watched anything else from the Gegege universe, so I'd like fic that doesn't draw heavily from other canons.

I chose 'Any' very deliberately: I'd love fic about any one or more of these guys, gen or otherwise, canon-compliant or canon-divergent. The movie has such fascinating dynamics of loyalty and trust, tests and betrayal; fic exploring any of that would be great.
Here are some ideas, but don't feel obliged to use any:
Tak: Something about identity and betrayal, police ideals versus Muro as a partner. How he wanted Muro to escape, yet still made that final choice. (But I'm open to canon divergence where he doesn't face that choice, or chooses differently!)
Muro: Anna and the support group versus yakuza life. Wanting to be a hero, but not to leave Toshokai. His reaction to discovering Tak's identity; if not for Emiri, would he still have confronted Tak?
Toki: His backstory with Muro, and what he makes of Muro and Tak's partnership. The fact that he ignored what Tak was doing for the sake of Toshokai. Why he didn't want to become Toake's secretary.
Toake: How he changed sides; was it a forced decision or had he already been wavering? His suspicions about Tak, and how they change over the course of the movie. (Bear isn't nominated, but if you'd like to write about him and Toake, I'd love to read that too.)
If you'd like to write pairingfic, please do!! The movie makes so many pairings (or complicated three-way relationships) plausible; more thoughts in my letter, if needed.

I love every shade of the Yukawa and Kusanagi dynamic: from their easy banter and fondness for each other, to the tension and conflict when Yukawa insists on his own approach to cases (most devastatingly in Kindan no Majutsu, Silent Parade, and Toumei na Rasen).
I'd love fic from any point in canon (so it's fine if you've only read one of the novels or short story collections), anywhere from gen to UST to shipfic. A closer look at the conflict or aftermath of a specific case (or in their partnership in general); stories from their university days; slice-of-life scenes -- anything, as long as it's about the two of them. There are ideas in my letter for every book in the series, if that helps!

i will be honest with you: when miranda and alonso left, i got bored of grandia 3. miranda's relationship with yuki and alfina is so sweet, and her desire to care for them meeting her desire to go off and have her own experiences and live her own life is just. i love her and alonso. they're so sweet.
i would really enjoy seeing more of them. what are their adventures like during the plot of the rest of grandia 3? how do they come across yuki&co later? i'm a huge fan of rashomon-style fics, so i would super enjoy seeing miranda and alonso's reaction to hearing about things in the main plot secondhand and trying to piece together the real story. episolary would also be wonderful! so would worldbuilding about what they'd see!
grandia 3 is such a fun, weird game and that it let the older characters go off and have their own adventure is honestly so much fun and i want a game entirely about them. go to town! spoilers for the entire game is fine (i am using this as the inspiration to make me finish this game)

gunbuster at this point may be my absolute favorite anime ever, and a huge portion of that love is because of how seriously they take time dilation and the realities of FTL travel.
so what i'm saying is: i want to know what happens after the end. when noriko and kazumi return to earth, how do they find it? how do they integrate? do they join society, or are they just not equipped for that? are there any elements of the world they knew before?
i am so, so interested in the concept of a world out of time and characters stuck in a world out of time. the trauma of lonliness, the experience of being a stranger in a strange land that is in fact your own land means that gunbuster reminds me in a lot of ways of the dark tower series, with that same sense of timeless wonder and monumental loss.
i would be happy to see this either gen or ship, but would prefer the latter. an exploration of how their relationship changed and developed on their way back to earth, and how it continues to change once they're on earth and living in real time—that would be so cool.
if you're familiar with diebuster i would be SO excited to see this tie in with diebuster, particularly having lal-c meet noriko. how would that go down? what would noriko and kazumi think about diebuster and the creations of their legacy? the world they didn't even mean to birth?
they got such a bittersweet ending, and i want to see it.
major character death is 150% mega ultra okay. everyone major character death is fine. mcd with kazumi and noriko is fine. all canon character deaths are fine. not only is it okay i would strongly encourage mcd, that would be the spice of life to this request.

the fealty of monsters is a dark fantasy erotica that is like if trinity blood fucked the master and margherita and i enjoyed it immensely, so i recommend it highly to anyone who might like vampires who are mosquitos and also overthrowing the tzar.
however, this request is not about that.
this request is about whatever the fuck ilya and władysław had going on in the past prior to the start of the book and what that looked like between them. i'm sure we'll get more details in vol. 2 whenever it releases next year, but until then, i fully assume that they had some kind of weird codependent fuck relationship that was just bad sex and old grudges, and then ilya fucks sasza and oh, man, there's so many layers.
i would be sooo into seeing some of ilya's pov on the plot of vol. 1, particularly on sasza's feelings about his father and how weird it has to be on ilya's part to have information that sasza doesn't know and ilya doesn't share.
in general beyond this, i'd be happy to see any worldbuilding. i want to know more about the giant mosquito vampires, or about some of the other vampire states. is there vampire catholicism? please let there be vampire catholicism.

i want to study askeladd like a bug in a jar. i am obsessed with him. i honestly wasnt really taken with vinland saga until more of his backstory came up, and then i was obsessed with it to a degree i have rarely been w a manga bc i needed more detail about a character.
what i find most fascinating about askeladd is how willing he is to allow himself to be viewed in whatever way is convenient for others. i didn't put either canute or thorfinn on my request itself, but i would be happy to receive a fic about their viewpoints or interactions with askeladd—or, frankly, any other character in the series, or an original character.
on one hand, i would be so into reading about askeladd from his own pov, because you know whatever is going on in there is complex and fascinating. on the other hand, he's most interesting (to me at least) when read and examined by people outside of himself. part of what makes him so unique is that he is so willing to be whatever it is people expect of him, no matter how cruel that might be. he was raised hard, and he makes the world hard, but he makes it hard in the right way to reach every person he meets. he's such a weird fucking mentor.

Caves of Steel is probably my favorite novel of all time, but I adore all of these books. I am very fond of Daneel and Elijah. I find the world they inhabit fascinating, both the future society of Earth, and that of the Outer Worlds. As I love detective fiction, science fiction and especially robots, these stories may as well have been written specifically for me. Part of the appeal, for me, is how they manage to deliver both an entertaining mystery and heart-felt interpersonal drama in a world that feels real. Daneel is one of my favorite fictional characters; the way his empathy and personality shines through his programming and limitations. And Lije is the ultimate cynical, world-weary everyman - together, they are a pair of detectives that deserve to be up there with Holmes and Poirot.
Wants: Casefic. Seriously, if you can write me casefic for this fandom, I will be delighted. A murder mystery would be fantastic. I do ship Daneel and Elijah, and I would love to read about the unresolved tension between them. Explicit sex would be great! While I love the ending, I am dying to know what happens next! I adore both the setting and the characters, and particularly how the tone walks such a perfect line between horror, humor and realism. Can there be three sides to a line? There can now; Edvard will make it work, somehow. I've picked my two favorite characters - I enjoy Edvard for his delightful and wild innoventions, and his eclectic personality. He's an interesting mix of cynical and blindly optimistic, with just a hint of madness. That being said, Barnaby is my absolute favorite. The idea of a man who takes to a life of crime because he thinks it might be "a bit of fun", and then ends up being accidentally really good at it is absolutely brilliant. He also seems to have some unexpected character growth, particularly toward the end. Last year I said that I do not ship these two, but the idea has since grown on me. So feel free to write gen or slash, as you prefer! It is also more than fine to pair either or both of them with other characters.
Exception to both characters being featured: As I mentioned, Barnaby is my absolute favorite. So long as he is featured, it's okay to not feature Edvard. That doesn't mean I don't want to see Edvard, just that it's okay if you'd prefer not to write about him.
Wants: I really just want to see what happens next. That said, if you haven't finished the series yet - don't worry! I'm more than happy to read a story from earlier in the series. I'm a sucker for casefic, particularly detective fiction, so if you'd like to try your hand at that, I'd be a very happy recipient! I'd also love to read more about Barnaby in general, and perhaps something more about Edvard's past? And of course, there's worldbuilding - what is the world like, now? I'm not quite sure what it is about this series that appeals to me so much; on the surface, they are simplistic adventure stories, albeit competently written, set in a universe of naive scientific optimism and (heavily) implied misogyny. But my goodness, how much heart and charm they have! I adore both Lucky and Bigman, their relationship, and the fascinating world in which they live. There is, perhaps, something soothing and satisfying in imagining a word in which science and rationality triumphs, and our lives are made better by technology, never worse.
Wants: As with Daneel and Elijah, above, casefic with angsty romance, please! For this fandom, I would very much appreciate some worldbuilding and expansion on the ideas presented in the novels - why are there so few women? How does society work? All that jazz. And again, if you're not comfortable writing slash, I would love an exploration of Lucky and Bigman's relationship, no matter what you consider the nature of that relationship to be. My dream response to this request would be something in the style of Asimov, but updated with modern sensibilities.

This has been my obsession this year; I’m on my fifth or sixth play-through (just got House of Light). I love the chill vibes, the open and forgiving nature of the game, and the general sense of menace that pervades. I’m not a librarian in real life, but my training is not far off, and I have definitely been back in the stacks perusing a tome in an obscure language in my time, so this is all very dear to my heart.
The Lore in this game is extensive, and I would be delighted to get something about that- Natan of Regensburg as a healer in his tower, segregated from the monks of St Brandans; Natalia Brulleau trying to trap the Edge-long, or building the Night Gallery, etc (or anyone else that I haven’t named). I would be equally delighted to get something about the Twelfth Librarian’s experience of putting the House to rights, of cataloging and cleaning and discovering the library, of meeting the residents of Brancrug, of taming vipers and tending grapevines. Or both.
Some absolutely optional suggestions: I am a big fan of epistolary, and it might work well with this fandom, since the entire storyline of the game is essentially in epistolary. Also, language is a particular delight of mine, and I would love to have something about the weird languages of the game- Ramsund and Killasimi and Fucine etc, or even *in* them (or the real languages as well) if you’re of a conlanging/conscripting/calligraphic bent. If none of that sounds exciting to you, though, I would also be perfectly happy to get a story without them.

So, this game is just like, implausibly weird and good. If you look at the trailer, it just looks like another cooking-themed time management game. It’s not until you get into it that you’re like, hold up, *how* did they say stroganoff was invented? What happened to Texas? Why is everything radioactive? Why is this improbably catchy music about driving through the radioactive rubble of your hometown? Is that Spanish Pig Latin? (the soundtrack to CSD3 was amazing)
There’s just so much you could potentially do with the background lore of this game.
